S-Max Headroom: Ford Launches All-New

The affection of America for minivans may be in decline, but in Europe segment motor alto-techo family (or MPV) is as strong as ever. At the Paris Auto Salon, Ford launched the second generation of the s-max MPV, which is offered in two different bodyworks, with space for five or seven passengers. Visually, the new s-max is an evolution of the previous model, but this car is completely new: it is based on a different platform and does not share a single body with the first s-max panel.

What's more, now has the grid that reminds us of a certain British sportscar manufacturer which belonged to Ford Premier Automotive Group. The lighting design is particularly impressive, with very well executed dynamic LED headlamps and taillights.

The former s-MAX ranked among people more refined engines, and the second generation raises the bar from there. Ford said that the both comfort and handling have been improved, a claim check from behind the steering wheel of the coming year. The s-max will use the electric steering which varies depending on the road speed; times that the technology allows a better direction, but often only improves the fuel efficiency.

Ford says that the new range will include several petrol and efficient diesel engines. Diesels are a 1.5 liter generated 104 horsepower and a 2.0 liter with 118, 148, or 177 Gasolina-quema of 1.5 and 2.0-litre engines will generate 158 and 237 horsepower. For the first time, the s-max will offer all-wheel drive.

Bells and whistles available include a steering wheel front heated seats with heating and cooling with a massage function. And assistance systems include the recognition of speed limit. The new s-max will arrive in European markets next year. In terms of start-up United States marcha-no in the market hold your breath. But perhaps the One Ford strategy finally sweep this car on our shores.
